Amy Estrada

Amy Estrada is a senior associate in the San Diego office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud and Romo. She represents school districts, county offices of education, and community colleges in San Diego, Orange, and Imperial counties.

Ms. Estrada assists education administrators with a variety of personnel and general education issues, including certificated and classified discipline and dismissal; workplace and student investigations; Uniform Complaint investigations and responses; conflicts of interest and Form 700 reporting; collective bargaining issues, including defending and presenting unfair practice charges before the Public Employment Relations Board; and defending employers against allegations of discrimination with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  Ms. Estrada has also provided AB 1825 training to supervisory employees on prevention of sexual harassment and discrimination, PROOF© investigations training, and FRISK© training regarding documentation and remediation of employee performance deficiencies. Ms. Estrada attended and completed Title IX training for campus investigators of sexual assault, which emphasized using a trauma-informed approach to investigations.

Prior to law school, Ms. Estrada taught Spanish for Spanish Speakers and Advanced Placement U.S. History at Escondido Union High School. 

Ms. Estrada received her bachelor’s degree, with honors, in political science and Spanish from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  She earned her Master of Arts degree in Teaching and her teaching credential from the University of California, Irvine. Ms. Estrada earned her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego.
